John G. Shedd once said, “Ships are safe in harbour, but that’s not what ships are built for.” I for one do believe that he was giving us a nugget of deep profound wisdom there. In the times we are living in now, we are indeed human ships learning to navigate this life adventure. We’ve always been, but the world is going through massive change. Without the right knowledge or tools you may be getting tossed all around. Can change and navigating new waters be scary? Absolutely, but what most people don’t realize is that the way we’ve been taught to handle change is now outdated and no longer efficient. So let’s get you upgraded.
If you have been experiencing fear, anxiety, depression, trepidation or overwhelm by what’s happening in your life or in the world then please keep reading, Here are 5 important guidance tools below to learn for your own growth to start living an even more fulfilling life.
1. Old Truth– If change is being called for…Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid. vs New Truth– We Have Nothing To Fear. Although the upbringing of many has taught us to fear change as long as we are focused on positively transforming ourselves and our planet, we have nothing to fear. Start seeing change as simply that our soul is pushing us to further discover who we are, learn our lessons and evolve. From this remember to breathe in, continuously release resistance to whatever is trying to change, let it flow, have faith and keep focused taking the next step.
2. Old Truth– This is the way it has been, it’s worked before so therefore it will continue to. vs New Truth– Change is happening inside and out which means that if we want to be on the positive edge of our own growth and evolution, then now more than ever, we must embrace change, remain in the flow and learn to trust enough that we let go without the roller coaster of freak out.
3.Old Truth– We must be steady, balanced and have it all together in order to be relaxed and happy. vs. New Truth– Because change is constant so is the art of balancing. The thought of balanced as a place to get to is an illusion. Learning the art of balancing, and what that means for you as an individual, are the muscles required to navigate life with more ease.
4. Old Truth– I need to be in control and it needs to be perfect. vs New Truth– Perfect is in the eye of the beholder and the quest for it is quite frankly self sabotaging and overrated. Yes, the aim for greater keeps us inspired but it’s only healthy when coupled with acceptance and gratitude for the present. We may not like everything, but we must accept what is and bless it free. Actively participating in releasing will keep our own bodies free from getting bogged down and not carrying the baggage of the past.
5. Old Truth– I need to see it before I can believe it. vs New Truth– I trust and know that I am living in an existence far greater than what I can see. When I step back to take a look at the bigger picture and then step forward into the unknown aiming with courage and more self love, the world opens and possibilities previously unseen appear. Sometimes if we know what isn’t working we simply have to Leap out of the murky waters and into the unknown before we are given the next step.
